I am not Doogie Howser M.D.

I do not know if any of my readers remember Doogie and his nightly computer entries. I do not like to write every night because it would be boring and I like to keep things as interesting as possible for you who read my Blog!

There is a topic I would like to discuss and it makes me laugh so I hope that it can bring a crooked little smile to your faces also.

Topic one is phone calls on the cell phone!
One moment you are sitting in your favorite chair and think of calling your best friend on his or her cell phone. You think it would be fun to invite them over or let them in on the joke you heard today at the office. You get excited and hit the contacts button, scroll to the name, and hit send as fast as you can. You are actually getting pissed because your fingers cannot move fast enough. The anticipation is killing you as the phone rings, but you are so elated to finally get to talk to your friend that you can hardly stand it. You are so pumped up and do not know how to deal with these emotions bursting like fireworks. While you wait you envision doing a back flip for the first time or you even start to salivate now that you are so hyped up with happiness.
All of the sudden an onset of sadness runs over you that they might not answer the phone. The phone has rang three times and they still have not picked up. Finally you are about to curl up in a ball and start to cry because your idea is shot and your feel stupid for even trying. Soon your visions turn from dreams to nightmares! During the back flip you fall on your head and the saliva has been replaced by a waterfall of tears.
Then to your utter amazement you hear hello reverberate across the waves of cellphone signal and reach your ears. You are so excited that you just about yell back a common North American greeting. Then it happens!!!! All this time and all this excitement for the biggest let down since Sopranos ended in darkness or O.J. was not convicted.

Your friend says, "what do you need I am busy!"
OR
You say, how are you my best friend in the world and he/she says....

I can't talk right now, and quickly hangs up the phone!

There are other variations to this that I could go through, but I know you understand what I am talking about! It is a big let down and you are crushed. You not only feel bad because you did not get to talk to your best friend, but now you feel like crap because you interrupted there event they were partaking in.
You know what I think, maybe you should not answer your phone when you are busy then. Maybe, you should make an answering message that says what you are doing at that point and time!

Hi, this is Paul and I am not available right now because I have to work and 3, shave my dog at 7, and then I am L.A.R.Ping until midnight!
Or
Hey, this is Paul and I am busy right now,
If this is Mark, I will call you about 6,
If this is Lisa, I am avoiding your phone call
If this is My Mom, I will be over for supper on Sunday!
If this is My sweet tomatoe pie, I will call you soon my bumpkin wumpkin!!!

I think that would be a lot better then the dreaded let down of the hang up or the excuse. Please think about this, that is what silent or vibrate is for! Enough on that topic, I am getting worked up just thinking about it!
